As the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum with gale of defections by prominent politicians, including sitting and ex State governors, a political pressure group known as Orji Uzor Kalu (OUk) Grassroots Movement of Nigeria has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu For second tenure.
The group in an endorsement message signed by the Convener and National leader, Alhaji Muritala Mohamed, alias ten ten and the National Secretary, Dr Max Ejike Nwangwu, which was made available to journalists during the Southeast regional meeting in Enugu, explained that President Tinubu was hardworking, focused, sympathetic and friendly to the grassroots and thus needed more time to fix Nigeria.
According to the group, "we have weighed options and made our calculation and decided that it's much better for Nigerians to reelect President Tinubu for another term so that he can take more time to continue to fight corruption and address the challenges of insecurity, corruption, poverty, unemployment and hunger and more importantly building bridges across the nation to connect with the grassroots."
Insisting that reelecting Tinubu in 2027 is ideal for Nigeria, the group observed that Tinubu presidency, unlike his predecessors who were hardliners, 'is sympathetic to the plight of the masses and thus he is running a much more friendly presidency with his wife Oluremi and his son Seyi bridging the gap between presidency and the grassroots by reaching out to the down trodden with palliative to reduce the level of hunger and suffering."
With the endorsement, the group pointed out that they had set the target to mobilize not less than a million votes in the Southeast and Southsouth region for the reelection of President Tinubu in 2027, adding that henceforth it would be known and called OUK Grassroots Movement For President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
