A newly wedded bride, one Salisu, has allegedly stabbed her husband to death.
It was gathered that the incident occurred just 9 days after their wedding.
The tragic incident reportedly took place in Farawa community of Kano on Monday night, days after the couple’s wedding which was held on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
The shocking incident fueled tension in the area as as angry youths attempted to lynch the suspect.
However, prompt intervention by security operatives prevented mob action as the suspect was taken into custody.
A local radio station reported that the marriage was arranged by relatives of the couple but lacked mutual affection between both parties.
According to the report, the deceased had initially expressed reservations about the union but he was reportedly persuaded by family members to go ahead with the marriage.
Although the circumstances surrounding their dispute leading to the death remains unclear, community members alleged that Saudat may have poisoned her husband before stabbing him during an argument.
