Former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has stormed the venue for the crucial Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), stakeholders meeting.
It was earlier reported that the PDP summoned the emergency meeting to salvage what is left of the party following massive deflections.
A source hinted that Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has arrived at the Bauchi Governor’s Lodge in Abuja for the meeting.
He stepped out of his vehicle and proceeded directly inside to join other governors, former governors, and members of the National Working Committee for the meeting.
Also at the meeting were governors of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke; Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang; Oyo State, Seyi Makinde; and Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, and Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal were in attendance.
Others included former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, a former Niger State Governor, Babangida Muazu, a former Bauchi State Governor, Adamu Muazu, a former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, a former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido and a former Governor of Akwa Ibom, Udom Emmanuel.
Addressing journalists, chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Bala Mohammed, said the All Progressives Congress, (APC), is likely behind the party’s woes.
"We wouldn’t want to blame the APC for causing a crisis in the PDP, but they are likely to be the ones. We are not saying they are the ones," he stated.
