A suspected ritualist, identified as Samuel Adewunmi, has been arrested for allegedly inflicting grievous bodily harm on a two month old baby.

The suspect was nabbed by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command.

Ifa Science, as the suspect is popularly known, allegedly cut out a part on the baby’s body, behind the back of his head.

This was contained in a statement signed by the state commandant, Remilekun Ekundayo on Wednesday.

It was gathered that the arrest followed a tip off from one 53-year old Kola Taiwo, who happens to be the father of the child.

She noted that upon receiving the information, officers of the command swiftly intervened and arrested the suspect who is currently undergoing investigations with the intelligence and investigations department.

Ekundayo maintained that the offence is punishable under the Criminal Code Laws of the state and assured that the command would do everything within its powers to ensure justice is appropriately served.
