Gunmen, on Sunday, abducted several Christian worshippers during a church service in Kebbi State.
NATIONAL POST learnt that the incident occurred in Zagami village in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The attackers are suspected to be members of the notorious Lakurawa gang.
They arrived on motorcycles, invaded the church during morning worship, shooting sporadically.
Several members of the congregation were whisked away into the forest.
The police in Kebbi State are yet to issue any statement on the attack.
One of the worshippers, Mr. Ezekiel Danjuma, who narrowly escaped the attack, told DAILY POST that, “It was terrifying. They came shooting and forced their way into the church.
"Some of us managed to escape through the back, but they took many people with them."
