The ongoing National Sports Festival was on Tuesday briefly disrupted by explosion.
The incident, which caused tension, occurred at the Alake Sports Complex, Ijeja in Abeokuta, Ogun State, which is one of the venues for the 2024 Sports Festival.
It was later gathered that the explosion was caused by a gas truck supplying the complex’s generating set.
It suddenly caught fire, leading to panic among the athletes and spectators.
However, the situation was quickly brought under control and activities continued.
Officials are yet to issue any statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
