Ahead of the release of the results of the 379,775 candidates who took part in the rescheduled 2025 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination, UTME, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, is undertaking a final audit of the results.
A source disclosed that this was to avoid a repeat of the ‘technical glitch’ which caused national embarrassment, leading to a resit examination.
According to the source, the results would likely be released today, Thursday, after the final audit.
Those involved in the exercise, according to PUNCH, are officials from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Civil Societies Organisations, academics and other independent observers.
This comes after JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede announced that there would be a mop up examination for those who missed the resit examination, regardless of the reason for their absence.
He said, “This time, we are creating a new mop-up. Even those who missed the earlier exam due to absence will get another opportunity.
“It’s not extraordinary. In any serious system, when students miss an exam, they’re allowed to make up— provided there’s no abuse.”
