President Bola Tinubu has presented the 2025 budget of the Rivers State Government to the National Assembly.
In a letter to the National Assembly, he said the N1.481 trillion budget is in view of the nullification of the state's 2025 budget by the Supreme Court, and the fact that the state is currently under emergency rule.
NATIONAL POST recalls that the representation of the budget was one of the orders given by the Supreme Court to the suspended Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
However, his efforts to present the budget hit a brick wall, leading to the emergency rule declaration by President Tinubu.
In his letter to the National Assembly, Tinubu said that N324 billion of the amount will be expended on infrastructure, while N166 billion for health.
According to the President, N75.6 billion is being earmarked for education and N31.4 for agriculture.
Tinubu stated that by the provisions of the budget, agriculture is expected to generate about 6000 jobs, appealing to the lawmakers to urgently pass for the budget for the good of the State.
