Tottenham UELfinal victory: Manchester United needs six signings - Shearer, Richards

By

As a fallout of the defeat suffered by Manchester United on Wednesday night, Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer and former Manchester City defender, Micah Richards have named six new signings the Red Devils need.

Manchester United’s only hope of playing in the Champions League next season was dashed as Tottenham stunned them in the 42nd minute during the UEFA Europa League final played on Wednesday.

The lone goal scored by Spurs in Bilbao came through Brennan Johson, in what was considered Mancherster United goalkeeper, Onana's error.

Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast after the match, Shearer said the Red Devils need to sign a goalkeeper, centre half, midfielder and striker.

"Manchester United need to spend big in 4 positions.

"They need a new goalkeeper, a new centre half, they definitely need some new midfielders and obviously a top striker so there is the four important positions," Shearer said.

On his part, Richards agreed with Shearer and said Ruben Amorim's men should also sign another two new wing-backs.

"I think Manchester United need two new wing-backs as well," Richards added.

"The big question for me is will players want to go [to Manchester United] and play in that [Ruben Amorim's] system?"
