The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has reacted to the sealing of its National Secretariat by the Federal Capital Territory Authority, FCTA.
NATIONAL POST earlier reported that the Federal Capital Territory Authority, FCTA, on Monday, sealed the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
FCTA sealed the Secretariat located in Zone 5 area of Abuja for failing to pay its ground rent.
PDP described the action of FCTA as the highest form of irresponsibility by President Bola Tinubu's government.
Speaking after a meeting of the party's caucus in Abuja on Monday, the National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum said the they were not going to take it lightly.
He was flanked by the PDP governors, other members of the National Working Committee, as well as Board of Trustees members.
Damagum said they were ready to be arrested by the government, while insisting that it's an act of irresponsibility which will not be tolerated either.
While giving an inkling that they would storm the secretariat tomorrow, Tuesday, Damagum said they were ready for arrests.
He said: "As you can see, we have adjourned our meeting today for tomorrow at 10 am. Activities will continue. I will address you tomorrow properly by the time we conclude our meeting tomorrow.
"I want to use this opportunity to tell you ... you are aware that our office has been sealed. This is the highest form of irresponsibility from this government.
"We are not going to take it lightly. In fact they can come to arrest all of us, we are ready for that. We condemn this in totality. This irresponsibility will not be tolerated.
"They are trying to mar this democracy, and this is unacceptable. We condemn it. We will make sure they will have us to contend."
When asked whether the scheduled NEC meeting of the party will still hold tomorrow, he said, "when you come tomorrow."
