Immigration hands over Enugu native doctor to police

By

The fleeing suspected ritualist arrested by the Nigeria Immigration Service, Lagos State Command, has been handed to the Lagos State Police Command.

The suspect, Obi Levi Obieze, popularly known as Ezeani and E Dey Play, E Dey Show fled his residence in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State after dead bodies were discovered earlier in the week.

Cries of a 13-year-old girl, who was about to be murdered in a similar fashion, attracted the vigilante group.

While Edeani fled, his expansive residence was leveled by the Enugu State Government in line with the state's laws.

But as he was escaping through the Seme border in Lagos State, he was nabbed by eagle-eyed immigration officers.

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued by the Service Public Relations Officer, ACI AS Akinlabi, on Thursday.

“The suspect is a male individual wanted by the Nigeria Police Enugu State Command for alleged involvement in abduction, kidnapping, and ritual killing,” the statement read.

He has now been handed over to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation.

The development was confirmed by the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement released on Friday via X.

“ONGOING: @nigimmigration, Lagos State Command hands over wanted suspect, Obi Levi Obieze, to @LagosPoliceNG at the Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja," he wrote on X.
