A few hours after suspected herdsmen killed over 25 persons in Edikwu Ankpali, Apa Local Government Area of Benue State, a scene of horror has been visited on another local government in the state.
NATIONAL POST learnt that this time, dozens are feared killed late Sunday night after suspected armed herdsmen launched a deadly attack on the Tyoshin community in Naka, the headquarters of Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.
Although the exact number of casualties remains unclear as of the time of filing this report, eyewitnesses described the assault as brutal and devastating.
A resident, Akawe Francis, took to social media to share his grief over the loss of his brother.
He wrote, “Monday Dooden, my brother, we ran away from the village because of Fulani attacks to Naka over 10 years ago, but we didn't escape. Last night you were killed by the same Fulani.”
