Tears flowed freely on Monday in Benue State as 11 members of one family, killed by suspected herdsmen, were laid to rest.
They are part of the victims of weekend massacre in Edikwu Ankpali, Apa Local Government Area of Benue State.
It could be recalled that the attack, which lasted for hours, claimed over 25 lives.
Residents lamented that there was no intervention from security operatives while the onslaught lasted.
A grieving family member wrote, “Burying 11 family members in my village, Ankpali, Apa LGA, is the most agonizing moment for the community today.
"We are completely overwhelmed and devastated, leaving scores in hospital and thousands deserting the community."
Our correspondent reports that scores were also killed in another separate incident Sunday night.
