Switching allegiance from England to Nigeria changed my career - Lookman

By

Super Eagles player, Ademola Lookman has disclosed that switching allegiance from England to Nigeria helped shape his career.

Lookman was born in England to Nigerian parents.

The Atalanta winger represented England at U-19, U-20 and U-21 level.

However, he later switched allegiance to Nigeria, and has become Africa’s best.

The former Leicester City player made his senior debut for Nigeria against eternal rivals Black Stars of Ghana in 2022.

Lookman scored three goals and registered one assist as the Super Eagles finished in second position at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire.

He was crowned Africa's best player in Marrakech, Morocco last December.

“Without doubt, it changed my career and my life,” Lookman said in an interview with Arise TV.

“People know that. This is my home. This is my place. I enjoy it here. I am the son of the soil.”
