A student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University has jumped to his death from a three story building.
It was gathered that the yet to be identified student was under the influence of a hard drug, popularly known as mkpurummiri.
A student hinted that the tragic incident occurred around 8:00 pm on Thursday at a lodge near Royal Kitchen junction, close to the school gate in Awka, Anambra State.
"He jumped from a three-storey building and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
"We heard a loud noise and when we rushed out, we saw him lying lifeless.
"He had consumed hard drugs (MKPURIMIRI) before the incident," the source said.
Meanwhile, it was discovered that the student's roommate was also under the influence of the same substance, as he was found in an incoherent state in their room.
The roommate is currently in police custody and will be questioned once he stabilizes.
As of the time of filing this report, the police and the school authorities have not commented on the incident.
