A precision air interdiction mission at a Boko Haram terrorists' enclave in Chiraliya, Borno State has led to the decimation of scores of terrorists.
The raid was carried out by the Nigerian Air Force, (NAF), operating under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK).
Chiraliya is located within the Timbuktu Triangle.
Apart from neutralising several insurgents, the air interdiction also led to the destruction of key terrorists' structures.
Zagazola Makama, a security analyst, reported that the mission was conducted on Friday, 6th June, 2025 at about 1800hrs.
He said it was part of the ongoing Operation KALACHEN WUTA II, a theatre-wide effort to prevent large-scale terrorist attacks before, during, and after the Eid-el-Adha period.
According to intelligence sources, the air interdiction successfully targeted terrorists' hideouts concealed under dense vegetation.
He said the sources confirmed that the enemy structures were destroyed, and a significant number of fighters were neutralised in the process.
Boko Haram and its affiliate, ISWAP, had renewed their attacks in Borno State, hitting several military bases.
However, the Nigerian Armed Forces has continued its push to decimate the terrorists.
