Suspected armed herdsmen on Friday launched a fresh attack on the Makurdi–Naka Road.
Sources said several persons are feared dead and many others injured after the deadly attack.
It was also gathered that commuters were left stranded on the road for hours.
The Makurdi–Naka road has remained under the control of armed Fulani militia groups for weeks, despite repeated assurances of military intervention.
NATIONAL POST reports that the latest attack comes just days after Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede was reported to have relocated to Benue in response to escalating violence across the state.
Governor Hyacinth Alia same yesterday, Friday, fingered serving National Assembly members from the state for the attacks.
He also described it as an act of terrorism.
