President Bola Tinubu, on Sunday, said he has forgiven the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of his sins.
NATIONAL POST reports that what has existed as a rumour mill for a long time came open after Tinubu snubbed the governor at an event in the state.
Their beef was linked to the removal of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Mudashiru Obasa, who is believed to be in Tinubu’s good books.
In other mend fences, the Governor’s Advisory Council, GAC, took him to Mr President on Sunday and after the interface, President Tinubu said he was no longer angry with him.
They also appealed for forgiveness for other individuals who may have offended Tinubu.
GAC chairman Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi stated that he was aware Tinubu had been displeased with certain individuals in the state, particularly the governor.
Olusi then personally appealed to the president for mercy.
“It’s all over now. All is forgiven," Tinubu responded.
Tinubu further assured that he was no longer displeased with anyone in the room, including Sanwo-Olu.
Sanwo-Olu and other GAC members subsequently prostrated before the president in a gesture of remorse and appeasement.
However, the governor told journalists afterwards: "There is nothing at all; he is my father, he is my leader, and we're grateful that he has given us audience today.”
