Former Kaduna lawmaker, Shehu Sani has urged President Bola Tinubu to reject the renaming of the Abuja International Conference Centre after him.
NATIONAL POST recalls that Wike, on Tuesday, while making his speech during the commissioning of the rehabilitated structure, named it after the President.
The facility was reportedly renovated at a cost of N39 billion.
President Tinubu in his speech at the event described Wike as the landlord, urging anyone who wants to use the facility to pay.
"Once again, I say to all of you Barka de Sallah.
"We must listen to the landlord of Abuja. If you want to use this place, you have to pay for it," the President said.
Reacting, Sani, in a post on his social media page, wrote: “The International Conference Centre Abuja was built by IBB.
“The President should reject renaming the place with his name.”
Many other Nigerians have echoed similar sentiments.
