Ahead of the 2027 general election, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s camp has disclosed that Nigerians are already joining the coalition movement to defeat President Bola Tinubu.
It said the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was already in a panic mode.
The claim was made by Paul Ibe, Media Adviser to Atiku.
He declared that the coalition represents a formidable platform that will sack the ruling party in 2027.
“They’re scared because they know the coalition represents a formidable platform that could remove this administration.
“Even if some leaders defect to their political party, the reality is that Nigerians are defecting to the coalition.
“It embodies their aspiration, a platform to end this failed government,” he told Vanguard.
Providing further updates on the coalition, Ibe noted that once everything about the coalition is finalised and the dotted lines are signed, "Nigerians will eagerly board this train".
"That will mark their defection, far more overwhelming than what’s happening with the APC,” Ibe said.
Key figures involved in the coalition are Atiku, Peter Obi, Nasir El-Rufai, Chibuike Amaechi, among others.
It is uncertain the platform they will adopt for the coalition.
