The National Working Committee, NWC, meeting of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, on Monday, witnessed a fracas as some protesters stormed the venue and pulled down the main entrance gate to the party's secretariat.
It is unclear those behind the incident as journalists were prevented by security operatives from gaining access.
This comes hours after former Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, a chieftain of the SDP, vowed to ensure President Bola Tinubu’s defeat in 2027.
NATIONAL POST reports that the SDP National Secretariat is located in Wuse 2, Abuja.
There have been claims of an alleged plan to impose El-Rufai on the party’s leadership.
Meanwhile, El-Rufai said during his Arise TV interview that those of them involved in the anti-Tinubu coalition were not talking about any future ambition.
