Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara has confirmed that the rift between him and his godfather, Nyesom Wike is over.
Fubara spoke after a meeting between the duo and President Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa on Thursday night.
Also in attendance were members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, Fubara said, “For me, it’s very important that this day has come.
"What we need for the progress of Rivers State is peace, and by the special grace of God, this night with the help of Mr. President and the agreement of the leaders of the state, peace has returned to Rivers State.
"We will do everything within our power to ensure that we sustain it this time around.”
NATIONAL POST recalls that Wike, who is currently the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, spoke earlier, confirming that they had agreed to work together.
