The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the recruitment of additional 30,000 youths into the Nigeria Police Force.
This was confirmed by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Ahmad Abdulhamid Malam Madori.
Madori, representing Jigawa North East, confirmed this to newsmen in his office.
He said the Police Service Commission was given approval to recruit more police officers.
According to him, the Federal Government has approved the recruitment of additional 30,000 youths this year to ensure proper policing and bridging the existing manpower gaps.
"According to him, "President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given the commission go ahead to recruit the number every year to fill the gap in the Force."
He noted that the service will announce the recruitment via the media and warned Nigerians to be careful not to fall into the hands of scammers.
There have been concerns over the gap in policing ratio in Nigeria.
