Key leaders of the opposition coalition movement are meeting behind closed-doors in Abuja.
Those in attendance included former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, ex-Senate President, David Mark, a former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, and other top politicians.
NATIONAL POST reports that this comes barely 24 hours after the National Executive Council, NEC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, reinstated Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s National Secretary.
Atiku’s camp is said to be disenchanted with the development, with his close ally telling NATIONAL POST correspondent that recognition of Anyanwu “is a trap by the APC government to finally finish the PDP."
"What the Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum and his group have done is to finally hand over the party to Nyesom Wike, but final burial. We wont' be deceived. Our position will soon be made known," he declared.
The ongoing strategic closed-door meeting is holding at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.
Others in the meeting include a former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, ex-Governors Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), and Sam Egwu (Ebonyi).
The meeting, presided over by Mark, is focused on if the PDP leaders will remain with the party or decide to fully integrate into the proposed 2027 coalition party.
