A few days after three of them were sent to jail, Oriokpa masquerades are back on the major roads in Nsukka metropolis, unleashing mayhem on passersby.
It could be recalled that the police last week arraigned three of them after a viral video showed them brutalizing a road user.
They were remanded in prison by a Magistrate Court sitting in Nsukka, while the fourth person was declared wanted.
On Tuesday, they returned in full force extorting money from road users.
However, one of them was not so lucky, as an oncoming motorcycle knocked him down.
A trending video showed the moment his colleagues rushed towards him as he was brought down.
Several reactions gathered from social media showed netizens expressing joy over the incident, just as they demanded the government's toughness against those hiding under masquerade to perpetrate mayhem.
They only wished that the rider of the motorcycle was safe.
