2027: PDP finally dead - Deji celebrates adoption of ADC

By

Activist lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has celebrated the adoption of African Democratic Congress, ADC, as the official platform by the opposition coalition.

The announcement was made on Tuesday night, with former Senate President, David Mark as Interim National Chairman and former governor, Rauf Aregbesola as Interim National Secretary.

Reacting, Deji said the coming together of the key leaders in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and other opposition figures to battle the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the next election, marks the death of the PDP.

He hailed the PDP leaders for dumping the party for the ADC.

In a post on his Facebook page, Deji said he is happy that "PDP is finally dead".

"I’m proud of the opposition for coming together finally. Special thanks to Atiku, Obi and other top opposition leaders for putting aside their personal ambition to make this happen.

"I hope Kwankwaso will also do same. This is what they should have done in 2023.

“Whenever you wake up is your morning. Good morning to the opposition", he said.

NATIONAL POST reports that with the adoption of the ADC, mass defection from other political parties is expected in the coming days.

While Atiku Abubakar and other PDP leaders are quitting the party, Peter Obi is also expected to dump the Labour Party, alongside other members.
