The Presidency on Thursday declared that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar will have his worst outing at the presidential poll in 2027.
It gave the warning barely 24 hours after Atiku led key opposition leaders to the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, during which the African Democratic Congress, ADC, was formally unveiled as the platform for the opposition coalition.
The former VP and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain is yet to declare any ambition for the election.
But President Bola Tinubu's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a post on his X handle, warned that 2027 would be Atiku's final and worst outing as a perennial presidential candidate.
He wrote: "I concur with the forecast: 2027 will undoubtedly be Atiku’s final and worst outing as a perennial presidential candidate."
Atiku has been trying to rule Nigeria since 1993.
His last shot was in 2023 when he lost to incumbent President Tinubu of the APC.
