Super Eagles former shot stopper, Peter Rufai is dead.
The famous Ex-Eagles Goalkeeper, died today, July 3, 2025.
He was aged 61.
Dodomayana, as he is fondly called, died on Thursday morning after a prolonged illness.
During his playing career that lasted two decades, Rufai played in Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.
He also represented Nigeria at two World Cups and as many Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
The family is yet to announce his death, but a top Lagos State Government official confirmed it, but the report is already generating reactions from the football community.
Many have described today as a sad day for the soccer world especially as it is coming a few hours after Liverpool player, Diogo Jota passed on in a fatal accident.
