Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested the suspect behind the killing of a lady at Madoka Hotels in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, town.
A competent source told NATIONAL POST that the suspect was tracked through the last number that frequently called the victim before her death.
It could be recalled that the remains of the lady were found by hotel cleaners after her male partner had bolted away.
However, the police swung into action and arrested the suspect where he resides with his parents just behind the hotel where he committed the murder.
The victim, it has now been revealed, was a final year student of Computer/Statistics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
The victim, who is into hook-up, had come to have an all-night with the suspect, but the outing turned soar and she was murdered.
A police source said the suspect, currently being detained at the Enugu Police CID, is blaming the devil for his actions, claiming that a quarrel over payment after having sex led to the incident.
He was quoted as saying that after he had settled the girl, she rejected the money on the basis that it was too small, adding that a fight ensued and the female student fell down and died instantly.
According to the source, the suspect was arrested alongside his parents.
As of the time of filing this report, the Enugu State Police Command is yet to issue any statement on the latest development, but a source familiar with the matter said the suspect would soon have his day before a court of law.
