A Kano State-based TikToker, Umar Hashim, also known as Tsulange, has been given a jail term.
NATIONAL POST reports that Hashim was sentenced to one year in prison for public misconduct.
A Magistrate Court in Kano State sentenced the popular TikToker for bathing on a public road while dressed in women's underwear.
The ruling was delivered by Magistrate Hadiza Muhammad Hassan at the Gyadi Gyadi court on charges filed by the Kano State Censorship Board.
Hashim was arrested in June 2025 after he filmed a comedy skit in which he was seen bathing on a public road while dressed in women's underwear.
The court found the act to be indecent and in violation of public morality laws.
However, the sentence can be converted to a fine of N80,000.
In addition, the court ordered Hashim to pay N20,000 to the Kano State Censorship Board to cover the costs of investigation and prosecution.
