2027: Appointing your son, Seyi as INEC Chairman won’t save you - Dalung to Tinubu

By

A former Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, has boasted that nothing will stop the defeat of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Dalung, who served under former president Muhammadu Buhari’s government said even if Tinubu appoints his son, Seyi as the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, it won’t save him from a looming defeat.

Dalung stated this while speaking on News Central on Friday night.

According to him, the next elections will be a battle between Nigerians and Tinubu's government.

Dalung said: "Like I promised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, even if the 36 state governors of Nigeria defect to the APC and he appoints Seyi Tinubu as the chairman of INEC and maybe appoints his wife as the Chief Justice of Nigeria, they will be defeated in 2027.

"Because it is we against them. Nigerians should buckle for 2027, because the battle line has been drawn by the government of President Tinubu, which has declared war against the Nigerian people.

"The government has weaponized poverty, hunger and hardship.

"The only option we have now is to align with the coalition movement to reposition ourselves and confront the government in 2027."

Apart from Dalung, several other key Buhari’s men are in the coalition to unseat Tinubu.

They include former transport minister, Rotimi Amaechi, former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, among others.

NATIONAL POST recalls that the coalition earlier in the week adopted the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as its official platform.

Already, there is an influx of politicians into the party.
