Members of Lions Club, Region 9, have been charged to rally round the new Regional Chair with a view to moving the club to a greater height.

The Regional Chairperson for 2025/2026 Lions service year, Lion Chioma Vivian Agubosim, who gave the charge in her acceptance speech, noted that she needs every member's support, collaboration, ingenuity and above all commitment to ensure service delivery to humanity through impactful programmes and projects.

"I will make sure that every club within my Region is carried along in my leadership and I will also encourage membership growth through active engagement", she pointed out.

Accord to her, the 2025/2026 Lions service year theme, "Arise let's serve with passion", is what will guide all lions in our service to our community.

The Region Chair also reminded them that their strength is not in the position or title bestowed on anyone rather in individual and collective commitment and hard work to ensure that the respective communities feel the impact of services provided to them by the club.

"I need your support, I need your ideas, I need your commitment because leadership is not a solo journey rather it's a team effort and together we can take Region 9 to greater height", she appealed.

Meanwhile, the Region has already set the ball rolling by galvanizing its members towards embarking on projects and programmes and also ensuring feedback mechanism.

However, the regional meeting for 2025/2026 Lion service year will hold in Aba, August 2nd, 2025 with the flagging off of a project "Arise lions, let's dress a hospital bed".

The idea is to donate bedsheets to some hospitals in the zone.

Agubosim congratulated the new district governor, Lion Pastor Ezekiel Umoh and all club presidents within the region.
