Petrol marketers announce planned reduction of fuel price nationwide

By

Days after the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, NNPCL and Dangote Refinery announced reduction of pump price of petrol, the Independent Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria has also announced a plan to reduce the price of the commodity.

According to the organisation, the new price template will be made available nationwide on Monday.

They attributed this to the latest fuel ex-depot price reduction by Dangote Refinery.

The National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Abubakar Maigandi, disclosed this in an interview on Friday.

He said IPMAN members plan to follow in the footsteps of the 650,000 barrels-per-day refinery.

"Whenever Dangote Refinery reduces ex-depot petrol price, our members will also reduce.

“We will announce a fresh fuel price on Monday," Daily Post quoted Maigandi as saying.

It could be recalled that Dangote Refinery on Thursday slashed its ex-depot petrol price to N820 per litre from N840.

This was followed days later by NNPCL.
