Nigeria’s immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari is dead.
His former aide, Bashir Ahmad, announced the passing of the former president on X.
He wrote: “The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London.”
The former president's official spokesperson, Garba Shehu has also announced his demise.
He posted on X: "INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHIRRAJIUUN. The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, this afternoon in a clinic in London. May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin."
Buhari was hospitalized in London hospital days ago, where he was said to have been admitted in the Intensive Care Unit.
Days ago, there were reports that he has been discharged and was recuperating.
However, his death has now been announced, throwing the nation into mourning.
