Activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore has revealed why he will not mourn the demise of former president, Muhammadu Buhari.
NATIONAL POST recalls that Buhari died on Sunday, and is set for burial today, in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State.
And Sowore has been pouring out negative tributes for the late elder statesman.
Some netizens are criticizing him for talking ill of the dead.
Justifying his actions, Sowore in a post on his Facebook page, revealed four major shortcomings of the former leader.
Sowore alleged that the late Buhari "slaughtered hundreds of Shiites, men, women, and even children".
He also recalled how the former president allegedly ordered soldiers of the Nigerian Army to "open fire on peaceful EndSARS protesters waving the Nigerian flag", in October 2020.
Sowore also alleged that Buhari masterminded the disappearance of Abubakar Idris, a social media influencer and staunch critic of the Nigerian government who was abducted on August 1, 2019.
"He "disappeared" Dadiyata", the activist alleged.
Sowore further accused the deceased of ordering "the massacre of young Southeasterners whom he branded IPOB.
"He disobeyed court orders, jailed critics arbitrarily, destroyed the economy, and ruined everything he touched.
"And now, because he’s dead, some people with selective memory want us to mourn or worship him?
"Shameful. NO, we do not mourn tyrants. We remember their victims".
Many other Nigerians including popular Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Igboho have voiced our Buhari's alleged shortcomings during his reigns as Nigerian President.
