By

As tributes continue to pour in for former president, Muhammadu Buhari, the Middle Belt Forum has bemoaned the damage done to Nigeria’s economy by the Buhari administration.

NATIONAL POST recalls that Buhari passed on Sunday in a London Hospital at the age of 82.

He was president of Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, a period when the country’s economy is said to have suffered a worst decline.

As many Nigerians continue to react to his demise, Dr Bitrus Pogu, President of the Middle Belt Forum, said the citizens would not forget in a hurry the damage Buhari did to the economy.

The demise of a leader respected by many is certainly lamentable.

"However,  the damage to our economy and his comments on insecurity can not be forgotten easily. May his soul rest in peace," he told Daily Post.

Buhari is expected to be buried today, Monday, in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State.

Vice President, Kashim Shettima is already in London to escort  Buhari’s remains back home.
