Enugu State Commissioner for Trade Investment And Industry, Hon Adaora Chukwu has resigned.

It was gathered that she resigned from the Governor Peter Mbah government for personal reasons.

NATIONAL POST obtained part of the Commissioner’s resignation note currently trending on social media.

It reads, "I wish to officially inform the public that I have resigned from my role as Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Industry in Enugu State.

“I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve and for the support I received throughout my tenure.

“I extend my best wishes to His Excellency, Dr Peter Mbah, and the entire State Government as they continue to drive progress in our dear state."

Adaora Chukwu is the daughter of a former governor of the state, Barr Sullivan Chime.

As of the time of filing this report, no clear reason has been made public for her decision.

The statement is yet to break silence on the report.

However, a source told our correspondent that the commissioner resigned to pursue further studies.

"She is going for her PhD programme; that's why she resigned," the source said under anonymity.

Meanwhile, NATIONAL POST learnt that Governor Mbah has approved some persons as Commissioner-nominees.

This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, Secretary to the Enugu State Government.
