Kidnapped Niger women return with babies, advanced pregnancies

By

About six women abducted from communities in Rafi and Shiroro local government areas of Niger State last year, have returned from captivity with babies and advanced pregnancies.

The women, according to Daily Trust, were kidnapped in February 2024 while returning from the market along Pandogari-Allawa road.

The babies and the pregnancies belong to the terrorists, who held the victims hostage for at least one year.

Reports indicated that the victims were rescued a week ago when the terrorists in contracted commercial buses were conveying a group of about 24 women from Palu-Waya in Shiroro LGA to another location.

Upon reaching Kagara in Rafi LGA, one of the women asked the driver to allow her to urinate.

During this stop, she raised an alarm that led to their rescue and the arrest of the driver, who is now in police custody.

They are reportedly being held by the Niger State Police Command and investigation continues.
