Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office.
The opposition party also endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke as its candidate for the governorship election.
NATIONAL POST reports that these decisions were taken during a caucus meeting of the party in Osun on Monday.
Resolutions of the meeting were posted by Governor Adeleke on his X page, Tuesday.
According to the post, Adeleke will also remain in the PDP, laying to rest speculations surrounding his political future.
Adeleke said in the resolution: "I remain in the PDP, the party that gave me the platform to serve the good people of Osun.
"I have been unanimously endorsed by the Osun PDP for a second term in 2026.
"Our party in Osun has also endorsed President @officialABAT for re-election in 2027, recognizing him as a proud son of our state.
"PDP remains the most popular and trusted party across Osun State.
"I will continue to deliver on our Five-Point Agenda with renewed focus and dedication.
"The love and support from the people of Osun continues to inspire me. Together, we move forward."
There have been confusion over the governor's next move after he met with President Tinubu weeks back.
Just last week, two Senators from the state and a Reps member dumped the PDP.
However, as of the time of filing this report, they are yet to make their next platform known.
