VIDEO: Natasha defies Senate order, storms National Assembly

By

Suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has stormed the National Assembly.

This is in defiance of Senate's order barring her from resuming plenary today, Tuesday.

She had written the Senate, communicating her decision to resume plenary in line with a court order, but the Senate ordered otherwise.

However, Natasha has arrived National Assembly, accompanied by a number of her supporters.

Her car was denied entry by National Assembly security agents.

There has been a drama between the Kogi Senator and the National Assembly, with both parties giving conflicting interpretations to the Federal High Court judgement.

While Natasha said the court voided her suspension and ordered her recall, the Senate leadership said the court merely offered an advice which it would review and notify Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan of its decision.

Natasha's lawyer, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, West Idahosa, backed her return.

He was of the opinion that the court judgment justified her return.

However, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, communicated the Senate's decision.

He warned the female Senator not stay away from the National Assembly, maintaining that there is no legal directive compelling her immediate recall.

Early on Tuesday, the Senate beefed up security at the National Assembly to stop the Senator from gaining entrance.

But Natasha was seen making her way into the National Assembly.
