Labour Party, LP, National Chairman, Julius Abure, has explained that he reserved the right to visit the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
Abure explained that his last week visit to Wike was a private matter, stressing that it was within his right to interface with Wike and any public officer.
Since the meeting, there has been various speculation after the photos of the parley were released.
Details of the meeting were never disclosed to the public.
Some members of LP had accused Abure of betraying the party.
However, Abure, while addressing the concerns, said the meeting was privileged.
Abure spoke at LP's National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting in Abuja on Monday.
He said: “I want to say, firstly and very clearly, that I am in Nigeria. I live in the FCT, and Nyesom Wike is the FCT minister.
“I have the right, as a Nigerian, to interface and interact with anybody, with any public officer in the federal government of Nigeria.
“The meeting was privileged and, therefore, was purely a private meeting.”
