APC National Chairman emerges as party holds NEC

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda has emerged the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Yilwatda has now replaced former Kano governor, Abdullahi Ganduje who resigned from the position.

The minister received a unanimous endorsement by President Tinubu, the First Lady and the Progressive governors before they moved into the National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting of the party.

At the NEC attended by Tinubu, Yilwatda was voted in as the national chairman of the ruling party.

Prior to the meeting, former Nasarawa governor, Tanko Al-Makura was also a frontrunner to the position.

Yilwatda is from Plateau State in the North Central region, which was originally designated to produce the APC national chairman before the appointment of former Kano governor.
