Ayo Pelumi, a suspected killer of a photo journalist based in Kogi State, has reportedly committed suicide.
It could be recalled that the journalist, Ayo Aiyepeku, was allegedly murdered by his friend, Pelumi, at about 8.30pm on Tuesday.
With an iron object, Pelumi was said to have smashed his friend's head, rendered him unconscious, and thereafter proceeded to dismember him.
He further loaded parts of the body of his friend inside his Hilux van and sped off to an unknown location.
A few hours later, he returned to meet security operatives, including vigilantes and sympathisers, who responded to a distress call from the victim’s colleague at the premises.
Although security operatives shot the tyres of his Hilux, he managed to escape from the scene.
Acting on a tip off, the police at about 2.00pm on Thursday, invaded a lodge where the corpse of the killer was recovered.
In the hotel room where his lifeless body was discovered, a bottle of coca cola and a sniper was seen.
Pelumi, according to a staff of the hotel, lodged in their hotel on Wednesday afternoon but was found dead around 1pm, on Thursday.
The police was later alerted by the management of the hotel, who identified him as the real prime suspect in the murder of Ayobami.
The corpse of the suspected killer was taken to the mortuary of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, where it was deposited.
