BBNaija winner gets N150m - Presidency defends Tinubu's $100k prize for Super Falcons

President Bola Tinubu's government has risen in defence of the $100,000 cash reward to each member of the victorious Super Falcons team.

Tongues have been wagging in certain quarters after the president made the pronouncement on Monday when he received the players and the crew members.

However, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said President Tinubu’s action was justifiable.

Onanuga in a tweet on Tuesday morning, wrote: "When you remember that Multichoice, the organizer of the BBNaija reality show is offering the winner N150 million grand prize, you wonder why some Nigerians are unappreciative of President Tinubu’s rewards to the Super Falcons.

"President Tinubu has rewarded excellence, creativity, hard work, soccer artistry and the undying Nigerian spirit."

NATIONAL POST recalls that while hosting the victorious Nigerian women's team on Monday, Tinubu also conferred them with national honours and gifted them three-bedroom apartments.

Each member of the technical crew is also expected to get $50,000.
