The gale of sack sweeping across states has hit Borno State as Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has announced the immediate sack of his two commissioners.

He also followed it up with a minor cabinet reshuffle.

This comes after Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru suspended 25 commissioners.

On his part, Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue sacked all his commissioners.

The sack of Borno commissioners was announced by the governor’s spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, on Thursday.

The commissioners affected by the cabinet change are Engr. Emat Kois, formerly Commissioner for Environment, and Hon. Tukur Ibrahim, who served as Commissioner for Intergovernmental and Special Duties.

Zulum expressed his appreciation for their contributions and wished them well in their future endeavours.

To fill these vacancies, Engr. Mohammed Habib has been appointed to replace Engr. Emat Kois, and Ibrahim Hala Hassan will take over from Hon. Tukur Ibrahim. These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Borno State House of Assembly.

In another development, Governor Zulum also approved the appointment of Professor Yusuf Gana Balami as the Executive Chairman of the Borno State Secondary Education Board. Professor Balami, a Professor of Education Psychology, hails from Hawul in the southern part of the state.
