Former Kaduna lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has claimed that former Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has helped the course of the Northern Nigeria more than any other Igbo man.
Okorocha is known to have used his Rochas Foundation to grant scholarships and do charity works for several years.
He has made several efforts to become president of Nigeria but failed.
Sani, in a post on his Facebook page, Sunday, said Okorocha's generosity had been ignored by the society.
"No man from the South Eastern Part of Nigeria has so much dedicated his life and resources for the uplifting and developing Northern Nigeria like Chief Rochas Okorocha for over 35 years.
"This is not politics but an appreciation and a reminder of good people whose selfless service and generosity was forgotten or ignored by a society drowned in politics and perennial deceit," he wrote.
NATIONAL POST reports that Okorocha has been silent politically since he left office.
He was sighted in London shortly after the death of former President, Muhammadu Buhari was announced.
