Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has explained reasons behind the loss of power in some of its areas of coverage.
The explanation was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday signed by Mr Emeka Ezeh, Group Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC.
The outage affected customers in Anambra State and Oji River, Enugu State.
Ezeh said the power outage being experienced is due to an explosion at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Station at Awada, which occurred today, at about 2:34am.
“As a result of this development, all our customers in the entire Anambra State and Oji River in Enugu State have been out of electricity supply.
“We are on standby, closely following up with the TCN team who has been working assiduously to address the situation.
“We hope that supply will be restored soon, once they are done,” he stated.
EEDC in the statement said it understands the inconvenience this would have caused its esteemed customers and appealed for their patience.
“We assure our customers of our continued commitment to providing improved services,” Ezeh further stated.
