The Deputy Rector, Institute of Management and Technology, IMT, Enugu, Dr Patrick Chukwuemeka Ejim could not hold back tears as his students interrupted his lecturers mid-way to celebrate his birthday.
Ejim was lecturing the HND final students of the Business Administration and Management earlier in the week when one of the students stepped out and carried a table to the centre of the classroom.
In amazement, Ejim, who appeared confused, asked the student, “what is this?”
Before he could end his question, the male student carried a gift from his desk and placed it on the table. Other students then started trooping out, dropping their different gift items.
It was followed by a loud shout, happy birthday songs, and lots more.
Ejim, who remained in shock while the drama lasted, later could not hold my emotions, with tears dropping from his eyes.
A video of the surprise birthday package was shared by a Facebook user, Agu Ifeanyi Destiny.
He wrote an accompanying message: “The best lecturer of the year surprises…The Deputy Rector of Institution Management And Technology (IMT) “Dr. Ejim” was surprised today as the best lecturer of the year in NABAMS Department.”
