Former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal has dismissed the notion that the African Democratic Congress, ADC, is promoting a Northern agenda.
The lawmaker representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, described the plan to unseat president Bola Tinubu in 2027 as a national consensus.
Tambuwal, who featured on 'Politics Today', a programme on Channels Television, insisted that the opposition coalition is a broad national coalition.
He queried: “Is Peter Obi from Northern Nigeria? Is Aregbesola not from Osun State? What are you telling me? Are they not all part of the coalition.”
Tambuwal affirmed his commitment to the ADC project, stressing that “I am fully involved in a democratically and lawfully process that will send this government out of office.
“He (Tinubu) can be defeated; I believe so. I am working along with the coalition leaders to do that in the interest of the country. It is not about Bola Tinubu. It is about the way he is running the country.”
The federal lawmaker further stated that Tinubu cannot defeat an opposition comprising former President Goodluck Jonathan, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso.
When asked about his favourite presidential candidate, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives said, “When they all declare openly, then I will come back and tell you my choice.”
