The Standing Committee Meeting of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, on Thursday, approved the creation of 15 new Dioceses.
This is in addition to the current 161 Dioceses across the country.
While five of them are full-fledged Dioceses, the remaining 10 are Missionary Dioceses.
The approval was given at the ongoing Standing Committee Meeting in Ekiti State.
The meeting is being attended by all the Bishops, as well as other clergymen and delegates from the laity.

THE 5 FULL-FLEDGED DIOCESES:
1. Ekiti South Diocese from Ekiti Diocese
2. Kalabari Diocese from Niger Delta Diocese
3. Lagos South West Diocese from Lagos West Diocese
4. Omoku Diocese from Ahoada Diocese
5. Ozoro Diocese from Oleh Diocese
THE 10 MISSIONARY DIOCESES:
1. Eket Diocese from Uyo Diocese
2. Idanre Diocese from Akure Diocese
3. Ikom Diocese from Calabar Diocese.
4. Keffi Diocese from Kubwa and Lafia Dioceses
5. Nasarawa Diocese from Lafia Diocese
6. Ogoja Diocese from Calabar Diocese
7. Oyo South Diocese from Oyo Diocese
8. Oyun Diocese from Kwara Diocese
9. Takum Diocese from Jalingo Diocese.
10. Zuru Diocese from Kebbi Diocese
